About the role

You will be part of the Australasia Corporate Marketing team, reporting to the New Zealand General Manager. This role will be providing valuable support in the creation and implementation of PR plans and strategies; and supporing a dynamic national promotions program to secure proactive media opportunities within New Zealand

  • The primary objective of this position is to continue to raise the organisation’s corporate profile and awareness of the brand in New Zealand
  • Oversee the organisation’s communications strategy including both proactive media opportunities and reactive issues management
  • Establish the position as the point of contact for all media enquiries relating to the NZ operation and be the go-to person for business topics related to QSR, franchising, food, retail, digital innovation and the like.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Develop and implement PR plans and strategies
  • Secure proactive positive media coverage to support the national promotions calendar
  • Work closely with digital team to support the New Zealand social media presence
  • Provide advice to franchisees to secure local good newsworthy stories
  • Manage any negative coverage and identify business risks
  • Raising the organisation’s profile and brand in the market
  • Campaign involvement, monitoring the media and responding to communications issues as they arise
  • Write media releases and be involved in internal communications strategies
  • Manage relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Identify and respond to sponsorship and branding enquires and opportunities
  • Monitor and evaluate media results in relation to company objectives

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will have extensive media experience working within a fast paced environment. You will hold excellent writing and editing skills and have the ability to work well under pressure. You will be a qualified PR, Marketing or Communications professional who has displayed relevant experience in working for a consumer brand. If you possess a high level of drive and are committed to furthering your career in a market leading commercial business then this opportunity will be well suited. The ideal candidate must also be:

  • A self-starter, self-motivated and self-managing
  • Able to work passionately and independently to deliver great results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including corporate and consumer styles
  • Experience in increasing a brand’s social media awareness
  • Driven, dynamic, enthusiastic and results orientated
  • Takes responsibility, accountability and ownership for your role and actions
  • Be very quick on the uptake, be able to work effectively, efficiently and autonomously
  • Good at making decisions, resilient, pragmatic and resourceful
