Operations Supervisor

In this newly created role you will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for efficient running and operations of the warehouse and transport functions to include supervising of staff, for a well establish Storage and Logistics Company.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring inwards and outwards operations run efficiently
  • Oversee metro and line haul transport functions
  • Supervise the customer service team and 2 warehouse supervisors
  • Ensure all warehouse activities are in place for smooth running of the storage and transport operations
  • To ensure staff complete all relevant reports, training, timesheets, leave forms etc.
  • To ensure customer delivery requests are assigned to drivers for pickups
  • To ensure vehicle weight limits are compatible when sorting metro and line haul loads
  • To ensure all policies are complied with by drivers and warehouse staff
  • To liaise with customers where there are delivery issues
  • Liaise with sub-contractors on delivery issues
  • Review outturn reports from all sub-contractors
  • To ensure all line haul requests are met and deliveries move on time
  • To ensure deliveries are despatched within the requested time frames
  • To work closely with the Health and Safety team on compliance issues
  • To carry our required health and safety audits and quality functions
  • To maintain and make amendments in Translogix
  • To ensure trucks and warehouse and kept clean and regularly inspected  

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Have experience of working in an Operations/Logistics role
  • Have working knowledge of dangerous goods
  • Have experience in staff management
  • This can be a physically demanding job, so you must have a good standard of fitness
  • Working knowledge of Translogix
  • Working knowledge of word and Excel
  • Full clean drivers licence class 1, with D Endorsement
  • HT Licence class 2 would be advantageous
  • Counter balance and Reach Fork Hoist Licence
  • Chemical Handlers Certificate.
  • Already be based and established in Christchurch
